The Singing Women Of West Texas

FEATURED MEMBER

As the third of six children, I was privileged to have parents who served Christ. When I was eight years old, I felt the Lord convicting me of my sin. I talked to Daddy and he explained what I was experiencing and led me to ask forgiveness for my sins and accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. At sixteen, God called me to the ministry of faith and encouragement through music.

Over the years, God has continued to grace me with His presence while singing in many different venues. Ministering with the Singing Women of West Texas has been a unique and fulfilling part of experiencing God through music.

I have found throughout my life - in times of incredible closeness to the Father, but also in times of indifference and even direct rebellion - He is faithful. He is my constant and sufficient source. He is the giver of my song, the lover of my soul, and the keeper of my heart. I pray that you have had the opportunity to come to know the Creator of the Universe who loves you as if you were the only person on earth! If not, contact the pastor of the church where you received this booklet and I know he will be thrilled to introduce you to the One who can give you everything you'll ever need - eternal life!

I remember walking the aisle in church with my daddy when I was about seven or eight years old. The preacher asked me if I was coming to give my life to Jesus and I said, "Yes".  However, as the years went by and I went to church faithfully and after I married and moved to another town and joined a church and became a choir member, soloist, Sunday school teacher, GA leader, children’s choir director and faithful Sunday school member, I always had a nagging feeling about my salvation. I wasn't comfortable sharing the gospel and I just didn't feel saved.

I had a friend who was the most courageous witness for Christ that I had ever known.  She and another friend would go out to the most awful parts of town at all times of the day and night and share the gospel with anyone they could find.

One day, I was having lunch with my friend when she asked me if I was sure of my salvation.  I told her of course I was and why was she asking? She said she had been praying for me and the Lord had just laid it on her heart to ask me.  She said she had even spoken to our preacher about me and he told her I was as saved as he was!! (He turned out to be a real mess and almost destroyed our church). Anyway she told me she was going to leave the room and wanted me to search my heart and seek God's plan for me. I sat there and talked to God and suddenly I knew I needed to make a new decision. I gave my heart and life to Jesus right then and I have never had another moments doubt.

Thank God for friends like her!!
